Top 6: Things I learned while Spring Cleaning

1)      I suck at sweeping. I swear, I swept the kitchen 18 times and the floor still wasn’t free of debris. Is there some science or technique I am not aware of?
2)      I really dislike scooping the litter box… so I don’t. The litter box was my chore growing up and I hated it then… and I hate it now.
3)      I love Clorox wipes. They work magic.
4)      We have a lot of random towels. We tried to get all the towels clean, and with each load we kept finding more dirty towels to throw in… I don’t get it.
5)      My hair gets everywhere. I don’t know how my hair is almost down to my butt, because I must lose 100 strands a day. Poor Noah had vacuum duty and got the brunt of it…. He even posted this:
Not sure how I feel about all the love this post got...  :)
6)      I like buying fresh flowers and placing them in every clean room. After spending hours scrubbing, vacuuming, wiping, and even making a donation to Goodwill…. We went to lunch and stopped and got beautiful flowers from Trader Joe’s (They have the best flowers).

                                                             Yay for Spring!!

Product Love: Nature Box

Quick tidbit about me: I hate grocery shopping. I become completely overwhelmed by all the options, the labels, and the crowds. My anxiety levels rise when I am trying to make healthy choices, and those damn Fritos call to me.
My solution: I have healthy foods delivered right to my door. I have posted about Full Circle before, and I swear by it. I have even gotten a few of my friends hooked. Now, I introduce to you….
A variety of healthy snack foods delivered once a month. No chemicals. No High Fructose Corn Syrup. No artificial ANYTHING. They are natural… and most of them are actually vegan! You can choose which snacks you'll receive or if you like the element of surprise, they can choose for you.
I received my first box yesterday, and the contents all look delicious. Dried cranberries, citrus granola, flax crisps…. Yum!
If you are interested in giving them a try…. You can use this code: REFER25You will get 25% of your first order. That’s a great deal considering a box is only $19.95/ month.

Another bonus, as if the deliciousness and the discount isn't enough.... for each box delivered, they feed a child in need.

"For every NatureBox delivered, together we’re helping to feed the hungry through our partnership with Feeding America. NatureBox donates one meal for every box to feed the over 14 million children in America who go hungry. We believe in doing good and eating well."

I Choose Converse

I have been wearing Converse since grade school. To me, they've always been comfortable and worked with my style. Whatever my style is? I wore them while I served chowder during high school, and I wore them when I sliced bread through college. And now... I stomp them through downtown Seattle. So... You can only imagine my excitement when I noticed  Converse are an encouraged CrossFit shoe. What?!!

In the CrossFit world, choosing Chucks is not necessarily a stylistic decision (which is why I was excited) oh no...apparently there's science behind it, and my favorite shoe is ideal for lifting. As we know, Chucks have a thin, flat, hard sole. During a lift, minimum sole compression takes place before force is transferred to the ground to move heavy weight. A completely flat sole allows you to start, and remain, on your heels throughout the lift movement.

As CrossFit gains popularity, popular brands are jumping on the opportunity to profit. Reebok is the main one, and they have a specific shoe for lifting.  While I like the shoe... I am not wanting to spend $150 on a pair I only wear to the gym**! I would rather stick with what I know, and design my own pair of Chucks.

** I am a shoeaholic. So yes, I would much rather save my pennies and drop money on something I can wear all day, every day. Like these, or these. Or... THESE?

Product Love: Fleece Lined Tights

Yes, indeed. The leaves are falling, the air is crisp and if you're in Seattle... the rain is here.

Once the temperature drops below 50 degrees (it's currently 46), the fireplace turns on and I live in my Under Armor tights. They keep me warm, and they are so comfortable. The only issue is, they aren't really meant to wear to work.

My solution....

FLEECE LINED TIGHTS!!

Oh my goodness, these are the most comfortable things in the world...

If you plan on following the adorable fashions (seen all over Pintrest) but don't want to freeze your bum off... invest in a pair!

The pair I enjoy see here.

feel more better

Here's another organization with a mission to change the world.

Feel More Better is on a mission to make the world a happier place for women and girls, and as part of that, they have launched a women's contemporary t-shirt collection, StoryTee's.

With every StoryTee purchased, Feel More Better gives a new book to an underprivileged little girl through their partners at FirstBook.org in Washington, DC, one of the country's leading literacy organizations.

Product Love

Ever wake up with bags under your eyes? You look like you haven't slept at all? I swear by this stuff. It's a cup of coffee for your eyes and it works magic. I dab the stuff on right after I put my contacts in… in 30 minutes, I've gone from zombie dead, to awake and refreshed.

New Obsession: Tea Infusion

As the weather is trying its hardest to warm up, I am looking forward to thirst quenching beverages. My go-to is usually an IPA...but at work, that just won't fly. So, over the weekend I purchased something I have had my eye on for awhile.

A Teavana Tea Infuser pitcher. This pitcher has the infuser basket and can make either hot or iced tea. It's super simple and the tea that I bought tastes like juice, so there's no need to add sugar. I make the tea at night and store in the fridge. By morning, I have cold tea deliciousness.
Tea I'm sipping on:  Blueberry Kona Pop Tea Blend.
