Have a Wonderful Weekend
My Mama is currently on her way up to spend the weekend with us. Tonight we are all going to a concert in the park to see Barenaked Ladies, Blues Traveler and Cracker. So much fun! Tomorrow, I am making french toast (so excited for a "cheat day") and we'll probably do a little mall shopping, and perhaps go to a tattoo place to just… uh… check it out. :)
Enjoy the weekend!

Creative Art: Bob Dylan
I'm completely fascinated by Bob Egan's PopSpots, a website dedicated to tracking down the sites of famous films, photographs, and paintings in New York City. "Manhattan is constantly being torn down and rebuilt anew," Bob writes, "And I'm trying to find these places while they are still around."
Among the many, he tracked down sites of Bob Dylan's video and album covers.

The Subterranean Homesick Blues
Bob Dylan holds a special place in my heart. On an off note, I am thinking about a few tattoo ideas. One of them is getting the Bob Dylan Eye somewhere on me.... maybe apart of my quarter sleeve. : )

Super Suck Sunday
SUPER
SUCKS
- The feeling of accomplishment. Last week was hectic… but with some planning and patience, I feel like I conquered the week.
- The MUTE botton on the T.V. and phone. Fabulous solution to loud commercials, or needing to flush the toilet. Yes, sometimes I do pee and talk on the phone.
- Birthdays and holidays. This week we get to celebrate both! The boy is a Valentine's Day baby. He gets two cards and some extra love on Tuesday.
- Got a new tattoo in the works. Just figuring out the details.
SUCKS
- People who choose the isle seat on the bus, so no one can get the window seat. You people are just rude.
- That sticky-cold-sweaty-feeling you get when it's cold outside, so you're all bundled up, but you're running around so you get hot. Does that happen to anyone else? Just me?
- Group papers. They say the purpose is to strengthen your group skills, but I think that's a total crock. I've been working in groups since kindergarden; I get it!
- The loss of an amazing artist. I will always love you, Whitney.

Girl Crush: Christina Perri
Ever so often I get a new girl crush. It usually starts with her voice. I had a huge crush on Hayley from Paramore after I heard this:
Now, I love Christina Perri. There's just something about tattooed girls that can belt their heart out.… not to mention she has one of my favorite quotes inked on her.

My Body Art
I got my first tattoo when I turned 18. It was not an act of rebellion, oh no. My parents were with me…and believe it or not, my mom has more tattoos than I do. I have four now, and each one has it's own significance. I guess it should be that way; they are permanent.
Tattoo #1:
Where- between shoulder blades
What- A fairy sitting on a stargazer lily
Meaning: As I said, I was 18 when I got this one. It meant freedom. Not the "being 18" form of freedom, but the freedom to be yourself, freedom to be fun, and freedom to live.
Tattoo #2:
Where- Back of the neck
What- Celtic Symbol - Land, Sea, and Sky
Meaning: I grew up on the Oregon Coast. Sitting on the ocean side was apart of my life. My favorite moments involve me sitting on the shore, toes in the sand, hearing the sound of the waves and watching the sunset.
Where- Inner right ankle
What- Celtic Symbol - 3 Separate Female Figures
Meaning- My mother and I have this tattoo. It symbolizes my mother, myself and the relationship we have together.
Tattoo #4:
Where-Left arm (shoulder)
What- Tree (of life)
Meaning- The coloring of this tattoo shows that it's Fall - the season of change. I am forever evolving, forever changing, but I always have my roots.
I'm not done yet; I want more. Ask anyone who has ink, they are a bit addicting. I dream of a 1/4 sleeve, but I am waiting for the perfect moment. Meaning, I want to know what I am going to be doing for the rest of my life… gotta be professional I suppose.
A tattoo is a true poetic creation, and is always more than meets the eye. As a tattoo is grounded on living skin, so its essence emotes a poignancy unique to the mortal human condition. ~V. Vale and Andrea Juno, Modern Primitives
