Super Suck Sunday

SUCKS
  1. Job searching. I am getting overwhelmed and very anxious with the thought of finding my “next chapter” and the idea of interviewing. This is something I have been anticipating for over a year, and now that it has come.... I'm struggling.
  2. Choosing the wrong jacket. On a day where it was pissing rain with 60 mph winds I chose to wear a down jacket without a hood. I ran all around Seattle looking like a drowned cat, and my ears nearly froze off. I'm not even being dramatic; It was miserable.
  3. I will admit... I am addicted to Pinterest, and I must say: I get super annoyed when the “Fetching Pins” thing takes forever....
  4. Forgetting where you put your keys. Every day this week....
  5. Theo destroying another pair of shoes. BAD DOG! See his past destructions here.

SUPER
  1. One more class session to go. One. More.
  2. Receiving recognition for a job well done. I don't always need it, but getting a “You did great.” feels pretty damn good.
  3. Having a boyfriend who will let me be a fat kid. Earlier this week I chose to have waffles smothered in Nutella for dinner. Noah looked at me and with nothing but love in his eyes said, “You know, inside that hot body of yours is a fat kid crying to get out.” Thanks, love.
  4. Purging your closet. I have a garbage bag stuffed with clothes to give away, and it feels great!
  5. At the risk of being a jerk for finding this utterly hilarious, this poor girl's video made me laugh.

Super Suck Sunday

Sucks
1) Going 13 days straight without a day off. Today is day 8..... ugh.
2) As a result of number one... I have no idea where I am supposed to be everyday. I literally had to write a reminder on my hand, “Go to work Friday. Don't get on a bus.” Someday I will have a normal routine.
3) Job searching.Nuff said.
4) Our pup may or may not have ingested a 1-inch long plastic needle. In addition, he gnawed on a container of dental floss with no indication of how much floss he ate... equally shitty....
5) Now we are intently monitoring how/what he shits. Awesome

Super
1) Hand sanitizer. Seriously, this stuff is unreal. I feel like it gives my hands a special germ-free forcefield.
2) Nailing a recipe you made up all on your own. I'll share it here soon. Boom.
3) By no means do I think homelessness is funny. Clearly, as I am currently working 20 hours a week at a homeless shelter.... BUT... the sign I saw a guy holding this morning warranted a chuckle. It read: “Need money for SCUBA lessons. Mermaids kidnapped my family.” I handed him $5 just for his creativity.
4) Having something to look forward to.... like graduation...a massage appointment, or a visit from a friend.Makes the daily grind somewhat bearable.
5) I have become increasingly obsessed with Pho'. It's warm, healthy and delicious. I have it at least once a week. I took this photo via my instagram– cute, huh?

Halloween Festivities

I am currently in a candy coma. Candy Corn, Fun Size Snickers, and Skittles were my diet yesterday. Oh dear...

For work I dressed in my High School cheer leading uniform (hooray for still being able to fit into it) and decorated myself with walking-death-bloody-zombie-makeup. So.Much.Fun.

After work, I quickly changed into a Superhero and went to decorate little faces with paint. Tiny witches, Batmen, and Lady Bugs were just too cute to handle. Not to mention how adorable we were as a Superhero family!

Take a look:

Don't be alarmed... Theo LOVED his costume.

What A Glorious Weekend

Although my Saturday was spent in a windowless classroom, I really enjoy the class I am taking this quarter. The teacher is interactive, entertaining and very knowledgeable. The class is on the DSM-IV-TR where we will be learning about how to effectively assess mental health disorders. The new DSM is expected to be released next year, so many of the conversations are regarding the changes being made; some good, and others not so good. Being excited about this class truly accentuates my nerdy nature.
Sunday started with a yummy homemade (Noah makes the best) omelet. We packed up the pup, and headed to the outdoor mall where dogs are allowed to go into stores. I think we like getting all the attention for our adorable pooch. The weather was surprisingly perfect, so we shopped around and had lunch outside.
A midday nap, some laundry and grocery shopping was my version of a perfect weekend.
Ahhh…. Now… to get in the groove of Monday.

Recently On My iPhone

Fun with the pup on PopBooth

Truth. Saw this adorable sign in a coffee shop.

I drew this on my phone…while in class. :)

Went on a little walk and found some lovely hair decor.

We planted over the weekend!! Our patio looks so lovely!

(1-3) Theo and I went for a nice hike on Friday. Even though it started to rain midway, it was lovely walking through all the gorgeous leaves! (4) The Puget Sound is where the trail ends (5) I had a wonderful massage (6) I broke out the knitting needles, planning on making my own SNOOD. Knitting pattern seen : RIGHT HERE (7) I have been wanting a new wool pea coat and I found one similar to this one. I love the wine color. (8) Homemade-made-from-scratch Sunday dinner. Recipe soon to follow.

Super Suck Sunday

SUPER

  • People remembering my name at my Practicum. I am only there once a week and it's a HUGE office. Having someone remember my name is a pretty big deal!
  • I had my 5th Roller Derby practice today and I am still loving it! I have decided to keep it up and hope to join a team by January!
  • Due to a recent post, my mother told me what I will be unwrapping this Christmas! Oh so excited! So many recipes to try out!!
  • Tomorrow is Halloween!! We half celebrated last night with spooky cocktails, a little dress up and a Halloween inspired burlesque show. Tomorrow I will be helping out with trick-or-treaters and get to face paint for the little ones. That will be a blast!

That's an eyeball in my drink. Eeek!

Get it? Tooth…. Fairy!!

I even had fairy dust in my poach.

SUCKS

  • We took Theo to the vet and he's got a virus. *sad face* He's on a weeks worth of medications. Pretty sucky.
  • Going to the grocery store to get all the fixins to spend the night baking…and forgetting eggs, foil and pumpkin. Disaster. Oh, and running out of cupcake liners.
  • Getting a hole in your brand new socks. That sucks, right? They're BRAND FRICKIN' NEW!
  • Not being prepared for Seattle rain. I guess it's that time of the year to wear a jacket equipped with a hood and carry an umbrella. On the bright side, what's the likelihood of finding your umbrella twin in a busy city?

Top 6: A Weekend in Photos

This weekend was amazingly relaxing. These are my Top 6 highlights:

1) Bouquet of flowers from the Farmer's Market on Saturday. Five bucks isn't too shabby.
2) Theo, taking an afternoon nap. Being a dog is so exhausting.
3) Noah enjoying his new chair (Anniversary gift).
4) Theo, chewing on a stick (kind of self explanatory) at Noah's baseball game.
5) Me, lounging while watching Sunday football.
6) A fridge full of groceries.  Our fridge was pretty bare, feels good to have food!

Now, I am preparing for the week ahead. Bring it on Monday!

Super Suck Sunday (On a Monday)

Super

  • Although I am nervous about starting my second year of school, I am overly excited for my classes this Fall. I think they will be amazing!
  • Finding a new recipe - thanks to my obsession with bloggers. I found the recipe at this site. They're called 'Individual Raspberry Cobblers', but the boy said they look more like Raspberry Volcanoes. My first batch is currently in the oven. YUM!
  • The weather man says it is supposed to be 80 degrees and higher all week. Oh my goodness! That means no excuse for not biking to work!
  • This goes without saying - but I must say it: A three day weekend! Woohoo! It was absolutely fabulous! We got to stay up late, we got to sleep in. We went to the Fair, we went for a hike, we went for walks and enjoyed ice cream in the sunshine… it couldn't have been better.
I had never ridden a Farris Wheel before, and I always dreamed of kissing a boy on one.

A picture of the view, and finally, my dream came true.

This is where we hiked to. A 2.5 mile RT hike to the Puget Sound.

Theo, enjoying the beach.
Licking my glasses? Seriously?

Sucks

  • Well, obviously getting your glasses licked by a pup isn't too super. But almost losing your glasses while upside down on a Fair ride… well, that sucked.
  • Having to call 911 for a client in crisis.
  • Going into a stall that already has a toilet seat cover on it. Gross. Honestly, I usually just turn around and pick another stall. I like to make my own nest, thank you.
  • When you forget to grab a towel before getting into the shower. The only thing you can do is walk your wet naked ass to the linen closet…sucks.

Superbly Random

Looks like I need to get Theo a surfboard!

And then there’s this:

Besides the obvious humor behind a vegetarian’s enjoyment of cunnilingus and/or fellatio…there are some interesting facts regarding the benefits of vegetarianism.
All I can really say is… now it all makes sense…

Puppy Love

I love our pup, Theo. He is absolutely adorable. He is smart, loving and for the most part he is obedient.
He can sit, stay, lay down,wait,come,roll-over,shake, and I even taught him how to high-five.

With all that said, sometimes he gets a little restless and feels the need to destroy something.A few months ago, he decided it was time for me to stop learning about multicultural counseling.

I wanted Spring Quarter to be over too.

Today, while I was at work, the Boy sent me a photo of the latest damage….

Yes, this is our couch cushion completely torn apart. WTF?
Awesome.

We came to the conclusion that he was obviously trying to tell us something: We need a new couch. Ha. No, he obviously has some energy he needs to release. As good pet owners, we obeyed and took him to the dog park. We hoped he wouldn't misinterpret this as a reward…

Car Ride
Obediently "waiting" for the command to run off and play

Puget Sound - not a bad place for a dog park

He always chooses the bigger dogs to befriend
Play.Play.Play.
Puppy Love.

Next time, I hope he'll just ask.
